Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. About this service
The Great British Vote (greatbritishvote.co.uk) is an independent, non-partisan public opinion research platform. It allows UK residents to voluntarily record their current voting intentions across all 650 Westminster parliamentary constituencies.
This is not a formal election. Submissions represent voluntary, self-reported voting intentions and carry no legal or electoral effect whatsoever. Results are indicative, unweighted unless stated, and should not be interpreted as a scientific poll or as predictive of any election outcome.
2. Eligibility
- You must be a resident of the United Kingdom to submit a vote.
- You must be able to receive a UK mobile phone number for verification purposes.
- You may submit only one vote per phone number per voting cycle (6 months).
- There is no minimum age requirement to participate, but if you are under 18 you should have parental or guardian awareness that you are using this service.
3. Nature of results
Results displayed on The Great British Vote are:
- Indicative only — they reflect the self-reported preferences of voluntary participants and are not a scientifically weighted or representative sample.
- Not predictive — results should not be used to forecast the outcome of any general election, by-election, or other vote.
- Unaffiliated — The Great British Vote is independent of all political parties, campaign groups, and government bodies. No party or campaign has any influence over how results are displayed.
4. Voting cycle and refresh
Voting data is refreshed on a 6-month cycle. At the end of each cycle, individual submission records are deleted and aggregate statistics are archived. All participants may submit a new vote at the start of each cycle. The current cycle dates are displayed on the homepage.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit more than one vote using multiple phone numbers, SIM cards, or any automated means.
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to submit votes or manipulate results.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform.
- Submit false or misleading demographic information with the intent to distort results.
- Use this platform for any purpose other than recording your genuine voting intention.
6. Removal of fraudulent submissions
The Great British Vote reserves the right to identify and permanently remove submissions that appear to be fraudulent, automated, duplicated, or submitted in bad faith. This includes but is not limited to submissions from VPNs or proxy services, bulk submissions from a single location, and submissions with implausible or inconsistent demographic data patterns.
We may apply statistical fraud detection at any time and adjust published results accordingly. Removed submissions are not individually notified.
7. Account responsibilities
Creating an account is optional. If you create one:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must provide a valid email address if you wish to receive notifications.
- You may delete your account at any time, which will remove all personally identifiable data associated with your submissions.
- We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts found to be in breach of these terms.
